House Reef Dives

Both our centres, at Coral Beach and Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh Resorts have their own very generous and well-preserved house reef, accessible from the jetty, just a few metres away from the centres. With various depth and coral reaching just below the surface, both are perfect for snorkelling, diving courses and diving.

Boat diving

Our centre at Coral Beach Resort is the port of departure for all our daily boat snorkelling and diving trips. The jetty is just a few metres away from the centre. We organise bus pick-ups mornings and evenings for all our guests staying in other hotels.

A typical day on our boats

Boats depart around 9 am and are back at the jetty between 4 and 4.30 pm in the afternoon, depending on the dive sites visited.

Dive sites of the day are decided every morning at departure time. The daily programme depends on the level of the divers on board, the diving activities programmed, the weather and which dive sites were already dived before by the people on the boat that day. A private boat can also be arranged. You can see more details about our diving area on our Dive Sites page.

Dives from the boat are guided with a maximum of 6 divers per guide but this number can be reduced or increased depending on the level of divers. The purpose is to ensure safety and comfort for everyone. A private dive guide can be arranged on request and added as supplement to your diving package price.

Depending on the size of the boat, we have fixed a maximum number of divers and passengers per boat to ensure everyone's comfort throughout the day. We do our outmost best to group divers by their qualification level on several boats. Our Boats page will show you more.

Lunch on board is buffet style including unlimited drinks (water, Cola, coffee and tea), and is generally served between the 2 dives. It is not included in the prices of activities.

Passengers and snorkellers are welcome on board our boats for a daily fee. Since places are limited on our boats, we recommend that you reserve your boat trip in advance. You can find more information about it on our Snorkelling page.

Children are welcome on board but neither Dive Point Red Sea, nor its staff and crew are responsible for their safety at any time. Children between the ages 10 and 14 years, who are already certified divers, receive a 50% discount on Dive Packages, House Reef dives and Night dives.

What you need to bring to dive with us

• Your diving certification(s) verifying your abilities for the services you are planning to use (i.e. Nitrox, Tec if necessary)

• Your logbook

If your last dive is more than 1 year ago, you will be required to take part in a Check Dive, consisting of a few skills prior to your first dive at the house reef or on the boat.

If you do not posses a logbook to show us, you will have to take a Scuba Review, consisting of a skill circuit in the pool or at the house reef.

If you do not present a valid diving certification, you will have to enrol in a Discover Scuba Diving course or other course for beginners.

Nitrox

Night dives

We offer night dives either from the shore at the house reef (min 4 persons) or from the boat (min 6 persons).

Special Wrecks Excursions

If you want to dive the famous wrecks of Abu Nuhas or the Salem Express, we can organise these activities for an add-on charge to your dive package. Since these special excursions depend on the weather conditions and a minimum number of participants, they cannot be requested in advance but we advise you to let us know as soon as possible if you are interested.
